Home cooked: 2020 Virtual Conference

On October 20th & 21st 2020, we hosted a virtual home cooked conference in partnership with the University of California’s Sustainable Ag & Education program. Participants discussed updates from the home cooking movement, dialogued with home cooks and movement advocates, and spoke with county officials who were involved in implementing California’s AB626.

Home Cooked: 2019 Conference

On October 3rd 2019, we hosted our inaugural conference at the Kapor Center in Oakland CA. Our programming served as an honest retrospective of our work and an intimate, intersectional dialogue about the promise & perils of the new home cooking economy. Participants spanned government officials, tech platform executives, economic development agencies, food & labor non-profits, labor unions, & of course, home cooks. Our conference was live streamed from our Facebook page and has since been viewed over 2,000 times.

In addition to a full day of programming, COOK Alliance home cooks also hosted nearly half of our conference attendees in half a dozen homes across the East Bay for pre-conference dinner receptions.
